Shonda Rhimes to Guest Star on ‘The Mindy Project’

Right, I’m cool now. I promise. Exciting news, I might need my asthma pump later, but this is the best thing I’ve heard all week! 

I’ve mentioned before that I’m a huge fan of Mindy Kaling and her show, The Mindy Project. But have I told you all that I’m also a fan of Shonda Rhimes, due to the greatness of Scandal? No? Well, it’s true. Shorty Rock (my mother, lol) and I have made it a ritual to sit down to watch Olivia Pope together, usually while drinking coffee.(Thank you Bustello!)

Anyway, quite often I daydream different scenarios about my favorites converging on projects. They are wonderful, brilliant, and I sigh in happiness. I won’t have to do that anymore with these two, because Shonda will appear on TMP! 

TV Line Reports: TVLine has learned exclusively that the A-list creator of Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal is set to make her acting debut in a fall episode of the Fox comedy. I’m told Rhimes, a self-proclaimed super-fan of both The Mindy Project and its star Mindy Kaling, will play herself on the show. Specifics about her storyline are being kept under wraps. Rhimes’ episode is slated to shoot in early September and air later this fall.

I am so glad I didn’t go to sleep yet. Let’s never forget how much Mindy‘s character, Mindy Lahiri, adores Olivia Pope. How long will it take for Kerry Washington to guest star?!?

Mindy Kaling’s BTS of “The Mindy Project”, Season 3

One of the best things about Mindy Kaling‘s Instagram is that she provides her fans with tons of behind-the-scenes photos from “The Mindy Project.” Mindy hasn’t changed that method for the upcoming 3^rd season (THANK GOODNESS) because it’s only the 2^nd day of production and we already have some goodies.

I think I’m going to start a MK watch here – because we surely cannot get enough of Mindy and Chris Messina, aka Dr. Daniel Castellano. Here are the pics so far!
